"I just wanted to drop a line to thank you for the clinics you did. They were always filled with knowledge which helped build a loving understanding between Billy and I. ... you are a fantastic teacher. Having the knowledge is one thing but you have a knack for teaching it so people can grasp and apply that knowledge and we all thank you for that. "
Lynda Smith
"I would definitely recommend Tim as a teacher for you and your horse. He has helped me accomplish many things."
Seanna Thompson
" Tim is very patient with his clients and horses..."
Joyce Hare
"Hi Tim , I just wanted to say thank you again for the training you put on Cruz and for allowing me to come and watch you work, I am such a visual person and the watching is what really works for me.
Since I brought Cruz home she has been so much more responsive to everything that I ask her to do. For me the best part of all of the training with you is that I have learned to exchange my frustrations for fun and laughter, I did not realize how little fun I was having because of her behavior and now that you have shown me how to handle this behavior we are having fun again.
She will never win the congeniality award but she does look to me as more of a partner than she ever did before. We still have a long way to go but I am really enjoying the journey with her now.
Thanks again"

"I highly recommend Tim Fortune as a trainer of both horses and people. Tim has the unique ability to bring together horse and owner to a point free of fear for both of them. As an eager Level One learner a few years ago, I had hit a wall with my spirited, sensitive mare. They say to start with a quiet horse while you are learning the program. I was at Level One. My horse was at Level Four. Yikes.
My Level One clumsiness was confusing her and she had almost given up on me. I was starting to become quite fearful in certain situations. Tim spent time training my mare with natural horsemanship skills far superior to my Level One. In the meantime, I worked with another horse at home bringing up my skill level.
When I got her back, we really started communicating with great respect for each other! This was a total success story!! As we journey together, Tim is available to help with holes that show up. This way we don't get stuck; we grow together.
Tim analyzes the horse first. Whatever issues there are, he is able to address them quickly and efficiently. He has endless patience and never blames the horse for anything. He is kind yet asks for respect from the horse. Horses feel comfortable and safe with him.
I would recommend to anyone purchasing a new horse that they ask Tim to check it out first. Most horses that are trained the traditional way are ticking time bombs. Once Tim gets involved, the horse settles down and becomes confident and safe."

"A practitioner of the Natural Horsemanship methods and lifestyle, Tim Fortune exemplifies the best in both training the horse and the human.
New to horses, but with a desire to excel, I sought Tim out after watching a stunning display of his horsemanship skills at the CanAm exhibition in London, Ont., 3 years ago.
Starting off green, I soon turned black and blue coming off of a horse that seemed as frightened of me as I was of him. As I crawled, bruised and bleeding across the dirt of the arena floor, I had a "BFO", a 'Blinding Flash of the Obvious". I needed help.
What I didn't want was a run of the mill horse trainer that used mechanical methods and force to intimidate my horse into submission. I didn't want an unconnected 'robot' who was too scared to do anything but what I cued him to do. I didn't want a 'broken' horse.
I wanted a friend and a companion that I could trust and who trusted me.
Tim's teachings was the answer. A teacher to both horse and human, his goal is the empowerment of the horse owner to understand and communicate with his horse. This gradually weans the student away from the weekly grind of reporting to the 'instructor' for another session of horse micro management. There are a lot of 'horse trainers' out there who seem to want to put you on the treadmill of bringing the horse back to them for retraining ongoingly. Tim, however, is a gifted teacher who takes you off that treadmill and into the world of real progress, knowledge and skills.
I now have 3 exceptional horses. I can ride bareback and bridleless with confidence. My horses are polite, trailer exceptionally and their ground skills are tremendous. If, however, I become lost for answers, Tim is always there to work with me and my horses. With Tim as my mentor, I feel I have all the resources that I require to move forward safely with my goals.
Tim offers one to one training as well as small and large group clinics and workshops. He can format a program to your needs, help you get over that 'bump in the road' and transform your horse into a partner. He does this cost effectively and with integrity.
I highly recommend him to anyone interested in persuing the enjoyment of this wonderful activity."
